River Valley Owl Necklace

During the fall, the land between the Missouri and Mississippi Rivers transform into a seasonal home for many birds, deer, owls and other wild animals fleeing from the cold northern climates.

I photographed these images in St. Peters, MO on Thanksgiving after a unseasonably warm day. My next project, the River Valley Owl Necklace, was inspired by the afternoon I spent photographing the fall landscape.

The owl has become a fashionable icon over the past year, especially on the jewelry scene. I created this owl necklace as a gift using Blue Moon Beads. The gold, bronze and copper tones of this necklace pop from the chain, findings, jump rings and the owl pendant.

Use your pliers to open jump rings and attached them to the chain and components. The chain used on the second half of the necklace can be tailored to any length. This necklace is fun to wear at multiple lengths.
