Mount Snow, Vermont

Wanted: Ski and Snowboard Enthusiasts
Mount Snow offers something for everyone

Pack a bag and head to the Green Mountain National Forest in West Dover, Vermont for a fantastic weekend getaway. Skiers and snowboarders enjoy scenic views and adrenaline rushing trails. The weekends are busy at Mount Snow, however a few tips from the experts will assist you with avoiding long lines and crowded slopes.

There are plenty of places to stay on and off the resort at Mount Snow. I would recommend searching for a deal on www.craigslist.com. There are several different condos, timeshares and chalets available for rent. Several types of accommodations great for families, singles and pets are listed on this site. If you are looking for a full service resort style hotel, try the Grand Summit Resort Hotel.

Buy lift tickets online at www.mountsnow.com at least 48 hours in advance to avoid waiting in long lines at the ticket office. If you miss the opportunity to buy online, stop by the lobby at The Grand Summit Resort Hotel. Tickets are available at the kiosk adjacent to the main hotel desk. Plan on spending about $75 for a day pass.

Slopes are open from 9-4 on weekdays and 8-4 on weekends, so it is important to maximize your experience. Take the quad lift at Grand Summit Express to the upper mountain and follow the signs to The North Face. Skiers and snowboarders take advantage of lighter winds and less crowded trails on this side of the mountain.

When the sun goes down, the nightlife begins at Mount Snow. The Snow Barn is a hip little spot with an open fire place and live music. Vermont's favorite micro brews are available on tap. Check out the concert schedule at www.mountsnow.com/snowbarn.html for information about live music and events.
