Statement Necklaces Made Easy With BMB Connectors

During my last trip to New Orleans, I fell in love with all of the over the top jewelry pieces that I saw in local boutiques. As I prepare for my next trip to NOLA, I wanted to create a fun statement necklace to wear canal side or poolside!
New at JoAnn Fabrics, Blue Moon Beads has a line of connectors available in many colors, shapes and sizes. I selected a mix of connectors in blues and greens to work with for this project. Other required supplies are seed beads, tiger tail wire, ribbon, wire and jump rings to fasten the connectors together.

To build the necklace, completed the double strand of beads first, then started to attach the connectors with jump rings. It is important that the connectors have enough space in the design to hang properly. To complete this look, I used two pieces of green ribbon. What do you think about this new statement necklace? I am ready for warmer weather and a fabulous trip to New Orleans.

  1. Can you post step by step instructions for this? Because I can't follow what you exactly did.

  2. Initially I used jump rings to fasten the connectors to one another, however I reinforced the design with 22 gauge wire. I used jump rings to attach the green connectors to the double stranded beads, which are held together with tiger tail wire. Is there a piece of this necklace that you are struggling with? Perhaps I can provide more detail for a portion of the project....

  3. No, there isn't any part of this I am struggling with. I just have not seen these components in Jo-Ann's yet. I usually use beading wire and silk thread for my bracelets and necklaces. Jump rings I use extensively.

  4. Where are you located? I can reach out to BMB and ask where you can find the item. These pieces are great to work with!
