Historic Home Kitchen Renovation

I've taken a break from jewelry design projects and have been focusing on a kitchen renovation project in our historic home in Saint Louis. Here is a photo before the work began....

This was a big project which included ripping out the cabinets, tearing up the floors and removing outdated lightening.
After spending many nights trolling through Pinterest boards, I found a few good examples of French country style kitchens to come up with a design plan! Here is another photo of the transformation...

The project consisted of replacing cabinet hardware, painting the cabinets white, selecting new lightening, upgrading to Stainless steel appliances and adding granite counter tops. For the final and most important part of the project I added Valspur Mousse Mouse antique glaze to the cabinets.

What an amazing transformation!

  1. I say it all the time - a coat of paint can completely change a room! Whether you refurbish a piece of furniture or redo all your kitchen cabinets, it is a fairly inexpensive way to update your home. It takes a lot of prep - definitely do not rush through this step! - and elbow grease, but the end result always takes the cake!
